Two distinct cultures. One amazing celebration. On Friday, July 11, the Calgary Stampede will pay homage to Quebec City as it marks its 400th anniversary. Stampede guests will enjoy special festivities to celebrate the historic occasion.
“What unites Calgary and Quebec City is our appreciation for the special character and culture of our diverse communities,” said George Brookman, president and chairman, Calgary Stampede board of directors. “We want to share our western heritage and values with our friends from Quebec City and give our Stampede visitors a sample of their rich and vibrant culture.”
On Parlez-vous Yahoo? day, visitors to the Park will have a chance to taste authentic Quebec foods and take in French-Canadian entertainment with the hub of activity taking place at Weadickville. A sampling of some of the treats available include poutine, Quebec maple bacon burgers, maple fudge and beef tourtière.
