Do you have out of town visitors? Do you have visits to popular Calgary tourist destinations scheduled? The 2008 Stampede may be over but a stop at the Park is warranted so guests can seize an authentic piece of Stampede memorabilia at the year-round store.
The Stampede Store offers exclusive items for every western enthusiast from the brand new 2009 poster, based on an incredible piece of original artwork by artist Jody Skinner, [link to: tag pending] to Stampede DVDs and souvenir books.
Hats, belts, shirts as well as exclusive belt buckles designed by Montana Silversmiths ranging from true-blue western to urban chic and one designed every year based on the new Stampede poster can also be found inside the log cabin.
There is also a selection of unexpected merchandise like branded golf balls, travel items, barbeque sets, books, clothing, home décor, or even Calgary Stampede hot sauce.
The Store, which opened in the early 80s, is also the only Canadian retailer to sell certain high-end designer clothing labels. New fashions include the likes of famed designs by Manuel, who has designed clothing for stars like Keith Urban and Madonna, and Tasha Polizzi as well as other popular designers.
“We know everyone thinks western when they think of the Calgary Stampede. We want everyone to think of the Calgary Stampede Store when they are looking to buy western,” says Laura Babin, the Stampede’s business development manager.
The Stampede Store is located south of the Pengrowth Saddledome and the Agriculture building on Stampede Trail. It's open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 403.261.0355.
Authentic Calgary Stampede merchandise may also be purchased online.
